一、佛山祖庙的由来？

佛山祖庙位于广东省佛山市内，始建于北宋元丰年间（1078—

1085年），距今已有900多年的历史。

佛山祖庙之称的由来。据说当时建这座古庙是供奉各行各业的

祖师。庙中供奉一尊铜铸的神像，名叫“北帝”，也称“真武大帝”。 因居佛山诸庙神像之首，所以称之为“祖庙”。又因这座古庙建在佛 山市，因此人们习称“佛山祖庙”。佛山祖庙之称即由此而来。

佛山祖庙在明洪武五年（1372年）进行了重修，明、清时期经

过多次修葺。此庙现有前殿、正殿、庆真楼、锦香池、万福台等， 面积3 000多平方米。这些建筑多为明、清时期建筑，其工艺精巧华 丽著称。院壁多砖雕、灰塑，构思奇特，生动祷神，为我国民间艺术的杰作。
