关于翠湖自来水博物馆

昆明自来水历史博物馆位于翠湖九龙池内，是一座见证昆明自来水发展历史和昆明饮用水历史的专题博物馆。该馆旧址始建于1917年，距今已有94年历史，全部工程由泵房、水池和五华山上的水厂组成。

资料显示，20世纪初，昆明市民的生活饮用水多以井水为主、河水为辅，除私家院坝有井外，市面上还出现了以担水卖水为生的“清泉业”。直到1917年8月，昆明建成第一个自来水厂，这才翻开了市民饮水的新篇章。

据博物馆工作人员介绍，1912年，中国历史上的第一座水电站――石龙坝水电站投产并陆续向昆明送电，昆明进入“大发展”时期。1915年，黄毓成等一批开明绅士提出“谋都市人民之健康及社会之消防安全”和“注重饮料、裨益卫生、便利人民”，倡议创办自来水厂。这一建议很快得到唐继尧的赞同，他专门派员前往越南海防、河内自来水厂考察学习，最后，由法商海防机械建设公司工程师戴阿尔负责承建整个水厂工程，采用西门子公司的设备。

1917年8月，水厂泵房和水池竣工。自来水厂则位于五华山西麓(今华山西路东侧)，1918年5月2日正式送水，日供水量1034立方米。水费实行“水表制”计量，每立方米水价为7分3厘5毫银元，折合下来可以买大米3千克左右。由于水价昂贵，所以当时供水对象多为公共机构，直到1922年，市民才陆续饮用自来水。

随着昆明自来水产业的发展，1949年10月20日，昆明市自来水公司顾问工程师许兴汉，以个人身份赴荷兰出席国际供水协会成立大会，成为中国最早参加国际供水协会的中国人
